Personality Assessment

Here's a children's activity guide for emotional development and self-awareness through a personality assessment:

Activity: Discovering My Personality

Age Group: 6-12 years old

Materials Needed:

       - Paper or poster board

       - Markers or coloured pencils

       - Magazines or printed images (optional)

       - Scissors (optional)

       - Glue (optional)

Instructions:

       1. Begin by explaining to the child what personality is. Describe it as the unique set of traits, characteristics, and behaviours that make each person who they are. Emphasize that everyone has a different personality, and it influences how they think, feel, and interact with others.

       2. Create a personality assessment poster. Draw a large outline of a person on the paper or poster board.

       3. Help the child brainstorm different personality traits. Examples include kindness, creativity, curiosity, patience, and enthusiasm. Write these traits around the outline, leaving space for the child to add their own traits later.

       4. Guide the child through a reflection exercise:

                - Ask them to think about their own personality and how they would describe themselves. Encourage them to consider their strengths, interests, and how they interact with others.

               - Have them write or draw their personality traits on separate pieces of paper or cut out images from magazines that represent those traits.

              - Help the child glue these pieces of paper or images inside the outline on the personality assessment poster.

       5. Once the child has identified several personality traits, discuss each one with them. Ask them why they think those traits describe them and how they manifest in their daily life. Encourage them to share stories or examples that highlight their personality.

       6. Help the child reflect on how their personality influences their relationships and interactions with others. Discuss how they can use their personality strengths to contribute positively to their family, friends, and community.

       7. Encourage the child to celebrate their unique personality and embrace it as part of their identity. Remind them that their personality traits make them special and valuable.

       8. Display the personality assessment poster in a prominent place, such as their bedroom or study area. This serves as a reminder of their unique personality and can boost their self-confidence.

        9. Encourage the child to continue exploring and developing their personality. Provide opportunities for them to engage in activities that align with their personality traits and interests.

Remember, the goal of this activity is to help children develop self-awareness, celebrate their unique personality, and understand how it influences their interactions with others.

Celebrate their personality traits and encourage them to embrace their individuality. Enjoy discovering and celebrating personality with the children!
