Here's a children's activity guide for emotional development focusing on gratitude and positive thinking through positive affirmations:

Activity 1: Gratitude Jar

Materials needed: Jar, small pieces of paper, pen/pencil

Instructions:

       1. Explain to the child what gratitude means - feeling thankful and appreciative for the good things in life.

       2. Decorate the jar together using stickers, markers, or any other craft supplies.

       3. Encourage the child to write down one thing they are grateful for on a small piece of paper.

       4. Fold the paper and place it in the gratitude jar.

       5. Repeat this activity daily or weekly, adding new gratitude notes to the jar.

       6. Whenever the child feels down or needs a boost, they can open the jar and read the gratitude notes to remind themselves of the positive things in their life.

Activity 2: Positive Affirmation Mirror

Materials needed: Mirror, dry erase marker or lipstick.

Instructions:

       1. Explain to the child what positive affirmations are - positive statements that help boost self-confidence and promote positive thinking.

       2. Stand in front of a mirror with the child.

       3. Encourage the child to look at themselves in the mirror and say positive affirmations out loud, such as "I am strong," "I am kind," "I am capable," etc.

       4. Demonstrate by saying your own positive affirmations.

       5. Let the child use the dry erase marker or lipstick to write their favourite positive affirmation directly on the mirror.

       6. Encourage the child to repeat their positive affirmation every time they see it in the mirror, reinforcing positive thinking and self-belief.

Activity 3: Gratitude Collage

Materials needed: Magazines, scissors, glue, poster board or construction paper.

Instructions:

       1. Explain to the child that they will be creating a gratitude collage to visually represent things they are grateful for.

       2. Provide magazines and ask the child to cut out pictures or words that represent things they appreciate or are thankful for.

       3. Help the child arrange and glue the cutouts onto the poster board or construction paper.

       4. Encourage the child to add their own drawings or write words of gratitude on the collage.

       5. Display the gratitude collage in a prominent place as a reminder of the positive things in their life.

Remember, these activities are designed to promote emotional development, gratitude, and positive thinking in children. Encourage open conversations about gratitude and affirmations to further enhance their understanding and practice. Enjoy the process and have fun together!
