The set of Physical badges focuses on helping children develop confidence, competence and wellbeing through movement and physical activity. They include body awareness, coordination, motor skills, balance, strength, flexibility and physical independence. Through everyday experiences, children learn how their bodies work, how to move effectively and how to develop healthy habits that support lifelong wellbeing.

🌟 What has your child achieved that makes you proud?

💪 What challenges have they overcome?

🚀 What new interests have emerged?

😊 Which badges or experiences did they enjoy most?

🏅 Which achievements demonstrate how far they have progressed?

Small interests often grow into lifelong passions when they are recognised and nurtured.

Learning Summary

Using your completed Evidence Records, write a summary of your child's development within this area.

Example:

Throughout this year, my child developed increasing confidence in physical activities and movement. They strengthened their coordination, balance and body control through a wide variety of games, projects, outings and everyday experiences. They demonstrated perseverance when faced with challenges, explored new physical activities with enthusiasm and showed increasing awareness of their own strengths and abilities. Their willingness to participate, practise and try new things contributed significantly to their physical development and confidence.

Looking Ahead

Consider what you would like to explore next year.

You might think about:

  • new interests

  • new experiences

  • further challenges

  • developing confidence

  • increasing independence

  • exploring sports, hobbies or outdoor activities

  • building on emerging strengths

Remember that development is a journey rather than a destination.

The aim is not to complete every possible activity, but to continue providing meaningful opportunities for growth, enjoyment and discovery.

Parent Reassurance

Every child develops differently. This Summary Badge is an opportunity to celebrate progress, not perfection.

By reflecting on your child's experiences and achievements, you are creating a valuable record of their educational journey and recognising learning that has taken place throughout everyday life.

The goal is not to compare your child to others. The goal is to recognise, record and celebrate growth.
