Purpose of This Award
The PIES Literacy Award celebrates your child's achievement across the complete Literacy pathway.
This award recognises the commitment, effort, experiences and growth demonstrated through Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. It acknowledges the development of knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence built over time through meaningful learning experiences.
From recognising print and sounds, to reading for pleasure, expressing ideas through writing, sharing thoughts through speaking and listening carefully to others, your child has explored a wide range of literacy experiences that support learning, communication and participation in everyday life.
This award is not about perfection. It is about recognising the journey your child has taken, celebrating their progress and acknowledging how literacy supports confidence, independence and lifelong learning.
What Success Looks Like
This award is successful when your child has completed and reflected upon their Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening learning journey.
The goal is recognition, reflection and celebration.

Completing the PIES Literacy Award represents a significant achievement. Across Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, your child has developed valuable skills that support learning, relationships, communication and participation in everyday life.
Along the way they may have learned new vocabulary, discovered favourite books, shared stories, developed confidence when speaking, improved their writing, strengthened listening skills and learned to think critically about information and ideas.
